An Allegory of Truth & Time

The scene is inspired by an old oil painting by the amazing Annibale Carracci – An Allegory of Truth & Time (c. 1584-85) – the story involves a few characters: Truth, Time, Deceit, Happy-End and Good-Luck. The moral of the painting would seem to correspond to two famous sayings (also current in English): ‘The truth will out’ and ‘All’s well that ends well’
